People are invited to visit Wentworth Castle Gardens for a cracking time this Easter weekend.

There will be four days of eggciting activities to mark the garden’s final opening weekend before it closes to the public. It’s also the tenth anniversary of Wentworth Castle and Stainborough Park Heritage Trust opening the gardens, and organisers hope that people will come along to mark the occasion.

Easter activities will be taking place during the weekend, from Good Friday 14 to Easter Monday 17 April, from the popular Easter egg hunt, to egg rolling and a name the egg competition. There will be a special discounted admission price on each day of just £5 for adults and £3 for children aged two years and over, with free parking included. Gates will be open daily 10am to 4pm.

Visitors will be able to eggsplore the family trail around the gardens and there will be a children's prize for every completed trail. There will be plenty of things to look out for in the garden during this year’s trail. Regular visitors may also notice a few old trail favourites, and there will be a chance to spot the Easter bunny.

The gardens will be in full spring bloom, offering something for visitors of all ages to enjoy, and a photo exhibition about Wentworth Castle Gardens will be held in the conservatory from 11am to 3pm, on each of the four days.

Visitors are reminded that they will be able to enjoy refreshments in the café or on the terrace and the playground will be open throughout the weekend.

John Edwards, Chair of Wentworth Castle and Stainborough Park Heritage Trust said: “The gardens are looking lovely at this time of year and we really hope that many visitors will come to see them and enjoy the Easter activities. We’re incredibly proud of all that has been achieved in the last decade, especially the restoration projects that were made possible thanks to the hard work and dedication of so many people. Although it’s sad that it’s the final weekend of opening, it’s also a chance to celebrate all that has been achieved together.”
