For those who fancy doing a bit of DIY, Household Waste Recycling Centres will be open over the Bank Holiday period.
But don’t get caught out by the Bank Holiday opening times. To help you plan your weekend, below are details for Rotherham Council’s services:

Waste and Recycling:
For those doing a spring clean, your black bin, blue box and bag and green bins will be collected as normal should collection fall on Good Friday or the Bank Holiday Monday. Residents are reminded to recycle responsibly.
The Household Waste Recycling Centres and recycling points are also open during the Bank Holidays and Bank holiday weekend (Lidget Lane Household Waste Recycling Centre, Bramley will be closed on Good Friday, 14 April). All opening times and (alternative) site addresses can be viewed online.
Should you find a bank at a recycling point full, Rotherham Council advises people to be courteous to local residents and take the recycling items to an alternative recycling point or any of the four Household Waste Recycling Centres where capacity will always be available. Please don’t leave recycling objects on the floor around the banks, as this is fly-tipping.
