Grimethorpe Colliery Band In Elsecar

The world famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band will be performing in The Ironworks at Elsecar on Saturday, 18 June.
The spectacular event, by a band that has been featured on film, television and radio, is set to be a truly memorable occasion. The concert is taking place on home ground and just a stone’s throw away from where Brassed Off was set. The film, in which they featured was a global hit, winning numerous awards.
Formed in 1917, during the First World War, the band is a British institution. Competing in national and British Open Champions on numerous occasions, the band’s contest successes remain legendary. These include 16 Brass in Concert Championship titles, 11 times Yorkshire Regional Champions, two English National Championship victories, four times British Open Champions and four times National Champion Brass Band of Great Britain.
