Did you witness Sheffield sexual assault?

Detectives would like to hear from you if you witnessed the reported sexual assault of a student in Sheffield in the early hours of yesterday morning (Thursday 9 June).

At around 3.15am, officers were called to a property in Westbourne Road where a 19-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted by an unknown man outside.

The man is understood to have approached the woman from behind before sexually assaulting her and running from the scene.

He is described as white, aged between 18 to early 20s and about 5ft 8ins – 5ft 10ins tall. He is believed to have been wearing a black hooded top with the hood up and dark trousers.

Officers are working closely with the university to provide reassurance and patrols will be increased in the local area.
