Arrests on suspicion of attempted Murder

Police have arrested two men on suspicion of attempted murder and aggravated burglary in connection with an incident in Sheffield.
On Monday 6 June at about 2.45am, officers were called to a house in the Shiregreen area following reports that it had been broken into.
The occupant of the house, a man in his 60s, suffered an injury consistent with a firearms discharge during the incident. He currently remains in hospital in a serious and potentially life-threatening condition.
Detective Inspector Paul Wilson, the investigating officer, said: “This appears to have been an isolated incident and we are continuing to investigate this matter, which remains a priority for us.
“We are continuing to follow up a number of lines of enquiry and I would like to reassure members of the public that although incidents like this are alarming, thankfully they are rare and we continue to use all available resources to investigate and identify those responsible.”
The two men arrested, aged 24 and 25, currently remain in police custody.
