Adrian Pogmore was sentenced on Tuesday 8 August 2017, to 12 months' imprisonment for misconduct in public office. The sentencing took place at Sheffield Crown Court.

He pleaded guilty to the offence on 18 July 2017. The offence relates to the misuse of police video recording equipment within a police helicopter.

Mr Pogmore was dismissed by South Yorkshire Police in 2015 on the grounds of discreditable conduct, following an internal investigation.

The Deputy Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police, Mark Roberts, said: "This kind of behaviour by an officer is completely unacceptable, and the outcome for Mr Pogmore is consistent with the decision we took in 2015 to dismiss him from the service."

We are unable to issue a police custody image of Mr Pogmore, because he was never arrested or in police custody. Instead, he was summonsed to court through the post.
