Rotherham Show returns for its 38th year

Rotherham’s largest and most anticipated event returns to Clifton Park for its 38th year on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September.


The annual show is one of the largest free events in the North of England, attracting thousands of visitors over the weekend from Rotherham and further afield.


With a wide range of live music, entertainment, activities, stalls and exhibitors to enjoy, there is something for the whole family.


Entertainment in the Main Arena draws large crowds throughout the weekend this year offering The Galloping Acrobatics, Rockwood Dog Display Team, Nottinghamshire Police Pipe Band and Phoenix Falconry.


Favourite attractions return including the Vintage Vehicle Rally, Horticultural Show, Diversity Festival, Emergency Services Day, Dog Show and Yorkshire’s Strongest Man.


Brand new attractions for this year include the AdVintageous Pop-Up Vintage Fair at the Bandstand, The Whale; a huge installation with live theatre inside, hilarious walking trees and the majestic and magical Summer Lion.


A first for Rotherham Show is an evening of authentic rock ‘n’ roll on Friday 8 September with Rockin’ in the Park which includes two live bands and a pie and pea supper. Tickets are priced £12.50 and can be bought from Rotherham Visitor Centre.


The Music Marquee will provide fantastic live performances throughout the two days with performances on Saturday from The Leathernecks, The Decades, Tom Masters and Echo Beach. The delightful Proms in the Park also returns on Saturday at 7.30pm, with tickets priced at £15.


Audiences will be thrilled with the folk and jazz performances on Sunday which feature The Teacups, Tipitina, Isla St. Clair and The Swing Commanders.


A free show programme will be available over the weekend from entrances into the park and Event Control and will include entertainment details and timings, a map of the showground, a list of stalls and more.


The Love Where You Live team will be at the show to give more information about joining community litter picks, and visitors can also find out about the exciting plans in store with the Rotherham Town Centre Masterplan.


Our Fostering and Adoption recruitment teams will be on hand to provide information to people who might be thinking about becoming a carer whilst the Early Help team will have information about the services they offer for children and families. You can also find out about Rotherham Council’s pledge to become child friendly.


Rotherham Housing Hub will provide information for residents from Rother Fed, the Digital Inclusion Champions, Mears, Fortem, Rotherham Council Tenant Involvement and Financial Inclusion, Housing and Neighbourhood Services and Your Account. Residents can take part in fun activities and a prize draw.


Rotherham Council’s Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods and Cultural Services, Councillor Taiba Yasseen, said: “We welcome everyone to come along for two days of fun and entertainment in the beautiful surroundings of the award-winning Clifton Park. I’m sure this year’s show will be the best yet, so come down and celebrate with us and enjoy Rotherham at its best.


Rotherham Show is free and open to the public from 10am until 5.30pm both days.
