Man named in Sheffield murder investigation

A 37-year-old man who died following a reported assault in Sheffield last week has today been named as Daniel Brelsford.


Emergency services were called to Devonshire Green at about 3.45pm last Wednesday (31 August) following reports that Daniel had been assaulted.


Daniel, from Sheffield, was taken to hospital with a serious head injury but sadly died on Monday 5 September.


A 20-year-old man arrested last night (Tuesday 6 September) on suspicion of murder currently remains in police custody.


A 19-year-old man who was also arrested last night on suspicion of assisting an offender also remains in police custody.
